Sisterly Love

"Sisterly Love" began as a live painting, capturing a deeply personal moment from 2017 when I helped my older sister Janice with her hair. In the Black community, doing hair is more than a routine—it is a sacred act of love and connection. This piece celebrates the intimacy and care involved in this tradition, highlighting our bond through this cherished memory. The artwork also incorporates references to African-American culture, including books by Sister Souljah and Toni Morrison and a scene from "A Different World," to evoke a sense of home and belonging.
